Welcome to TexMind
TexMind UG is an independent textile software development company.
Our focus lies in computer-aided design (CAD) development and exclusive
support in the area of textiles and composites.
We train new specialists in the particular fields of our software –
braiding, weaving, knitting, and general textile technology.
Our specialty is the development of complex 3D algorithms and software
for the three-dimensional presentation of textile structures – braided,
warp, and weft knitted, woven, and other unique combinations.
Our Mission
TexMind UG is an independent development center for adaptation of the newest scientific achievments in the area of textiles for practical application.
Independent means that we create our products to meet the needs of the end customers, not only the needs of the machinary producers, but we cooperate close with these in the case where it is required.
The qualification of the young specialists and generally Education is very important aspect of the company strategy:
we support junior researchers by publishing their selected works under very attractive conditions, see TexMind Verlag we develop versions of our software specialy designed for education – small, simple, fast and not expensive products. We develop the new products with intensive research in cooperation with the ITM at TU Dresden, Germany and numerous partner companies and other universities.
The focus of the company lies in computer aided engineering development and support in the area of textiles and composites and the training of specialists for this field.
Speciality of the company is the “3D” – the development of complex algorithms and software for the three dimensional presentation of the textile structures, such as braided, warp and weft knitted, woven and other special combinations.
If you are interested in braiding, you can use TexMind Braider Standard 3D to create 3D images of tubular braids or theTexMind Braiding Machine Configurator to create your new braiding machine, check its carrier arangement and get first impression of yarn path of the braided structure, of course again in 3D.
For drawing pattern of warp knitting samples the Warp Knitting Pattern Painter can save a lot of your time.
History
I received my first lessons in the programming in year 1986-1987 as a schoolboy. The first own programms were written on Basic on a 8 Bit computers and were able to draw and move geometrical figures for simple games and to create computer music, playing “Pour Elise”.
During the university time I developed a programm on Turbo Pascal for calculation of kinematics and dynamics of gearing mechanisms for my study project, which were widely used from study colleagues.
The final thesis of the engineering study (1996) was based on own developed software for simulation of the forming of the winding of sliver in canes in the spinning factories. With 386 PC with 4 MB RAM, 40 MHz were simulated large set of variation of the parameters of the winding mechanism and the optimal settings were found.
Several chapters of my PhD thesis are based on own developed simulation software – simulation of bobbin winding based on discrete models, modelling of the stress-strain behaviour of the wound packages, based on implemented finite difference procedure, density distribution of the wound packages etc.
From 2000 to 2007 I was working as freelancer in the area of the software development and consulting and later between 2007-2011 the consultancy and engineering services were offered in the context of “Ingenieurberatung Dr. Kyosev” .
In order to answer to the increasing requests of consulting services and software products, in August 2011 I founded TexMind UG (limited liability) in Mönchengladbach. In 2020, the company moved to Heidenau, Germany.
TexMind Braider
TexMind Braider is an intuitive CAD-Software for colour and structural design of standard tubular and flat braids. The user defines the number of the yarns, the braiding type and the dimension of the braid.
TexMind Braider Standard generates a 3-D-View of the braided structure, where the user can change the colours of the yarns. The configuration of the braid producing machine with the carrier arrangement and the colour arrangement is saved in form of a report. The export of the 3-D-View can be made as a picture with high resolution or in formats for 3-D printing or FEM- und CFD-calculations. This speeds up the development of the braided structures, in the both the areas for products with special requirements – medical textiles, ropes, overbraids as braids with decorative function -shoe laces and decorative cords.
TexMind Braider Multifilament generates a 3-D-View of the braided structure, where the all filaments in the multifilament yarns are drawn. These can be with and without twist.
If you like to learn more about braiding, we recommend Kyosev, Y., Braiding technology for textiles, Woodhead Publishing, 2014
Advanced topics about complex carrier arrangement, multifilament models and other calculations can be found in Kyosev, Y. (Ed.), Advances in Braiding technology , Woodhead Publishing, 2016
Modelling aspects about the braiding are explained in Kyosev, Y., Topology-Based Modeling of Textile Structures and Their Joint Assemblies, Springer, 2019

TexMind Braiding Machine Configurator
Texmind Braiding Machine Configurator is a powerful CAD software for creative developers of new braiding machines and braided structures. The user can configure his machine trough selection of the size and position of the horn gears with the mouse. After placing the carriers, the user simulate the carrier motion and test the carrier arrangement. Carrier collisions are automatically detected. The idealized 3-D-image of the braid, that is to construct, is as well visualised.
Texmind Computer Controlled Braiding Machine Configurator is advanced version of the Configurator, released in January 2018. It allows the operation with computer-controlled switches, which are changing the track during the braiding process.
Features
Create your braiding machine with the mouse.
- Horn gears with 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,….any number of slots
- Carrier placement
- Show animation of the carrier motion
- Idealized 3D structure of the braid
- Colision check
Export

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are the switches between the carriers programmable
Yes, in the Version: “Texmind Computer Controlled Braiding Machine Configurator” -
Is there direct export for the programming of the braiding machines with computer control.
For several machines yes. Ask the producer for file format. We have several CAD packages with direct export to machine files and there is no problem to implement new formats in our softwaer packages. -
Is automatic carrier arrangement possible
Not more, but reimplementation is under progress. The older versions had the possibility to say “1 Full 1 Empty” and the software arrange the carriers, but this feature is not more supported, because it will not work on machines with variable tracks.

TexMind Warp Knitting Editor
The Warp Knitting Pattern Editor is a professional CAD software for editing of the pattern for warp knitting machines. It works in both directions automatically – creation of the graphical representation of the guide bar motion from numerical input or editing of the guide bar motion by mouse and getting the corresponding numerical input for mechanical chain links or electronical guide bar systems.
The Warp Knitting Pattern Editor makes the editing of the warp knitting pattern quick and simple.
Before you start working with the software, you should learn the fundamentals of the warp knitting pattern, for instance using the book , written by Yordan Kyosev, “Warp knitting fabrics construction” , 2019 by CRC Press, wich contains 276 colour illustrations, created with the Warp Knitting Pattern Editor of TexMind. 100 Samples are available in 3D format and can be viewed from any view point, rotated and zoomed with the free TexMind Viewer.
